Originally from Zanzibar in East Africa, Rose Turuka currently resides in Detroit, Michigan. With Afrobeats dance at the core, Rose grew up learning and moving to the various African tunes that have shaped her as a dancer and instructor today. She began her journey in teaching and choreographing while in school for talent shows and group performances. Rose has training in all Ballroom styles including American and International style, Rhythm and Latin. Afro-Latin dances are her specialty (Kizomba, Urban Kiz, Salsa, Bachata and recently Brazilian Zouk). She has learned from instructors all over the world and continues to evolve as a dancer and Instructor. Prior to moving to Detroit, Rose taught in Grand Rapids, Michigan and now continues to discover different ways to be a better dancer and guide to others.
